Increasing Morale… one Hot Dog Hat at a Time

My office has created an “Employee Morale Committee.” Every once in a while, we’ll get an email in our inbox from TimeForFun with a cheery powerpoint presentation attached, outlining when our next jeans Friday will be.

They have clearly run out of ideas. After the “Take your Kid to Work Day” and the first “Jeans Friday,” they’ve already repeated Fun Days.

We are on our second Jeans Friday today, and now they have themes. Like, in order to wear jeans, you have to DO something. Today is “Crazy Hat Day.” Wearing jeans comes with a price.

No crazy hat, no jeans.

They have invited us to send photos of our departments participating in their Fun Days, which they will post on the employee website.

Of course, me being the huge dork that I am, I always orchestrate the photo.

Here we are today, with our crazy hats-a-blazin'. I like how Robbie improvised, and just wore multiple hats, rather than just one crazy one. He’s always going the extra mile. He doesn’t really care about jeans though. I am sure that really burns the Employee Morale Committee.

You want my opinion? Just get it over with, and BECOME Office Space.

“Next Friday... is Hawaiian shirt day. So… you know, if you want to, uh, go ahead and wear a Hawaiian shirt and jeans.”

So Happy Together

Update:

My mp3 player and I are enjoying our lives together. I went to Best Buy on my lunch break and there was a little baby mini expansion card on sale. So I bought it. I actually kindof needed it because I had almost filled the internal memory already.
I love music.

This expansion card is so cute. It's about the size of a... gosh I don't know. I can't even think of anything to compare it to, its so little. Maybe it's about the size of a Frosted Flake.

Its like this big:
So cute.
I like little small things that play music to me.
I think the mp3 player can read my mood too. It only plays songs that I am in the mood to hear. Which I think it's pretty cool.
I am now going to go buy some NASCAR sponsor decals for a tricked-out barbie Jeep.
AWESOME.

Office Space

I took this photo today at my desk and I thought it was a pretty cool photo. Makes me feel accomplished to see all the stuff crossed out.

mp3 wee!

I bought an mp3 player tonight. I am having so much fun uploading songs. I feel cool.

It was only 60 bucks and I think that's a steal.

Please don't crush my dreams and tell me that mp3 players are dumb and useless, because I am totally excited about it.

My turn signal broke, and it is going to cost $300 to fix it.

Let me have my little metallic hot pink moment of joy.

Finally, someone has given us a reason (actually, a BUNCH of reasons) NOT to buy the iPhone.

Pictures from Business Trip

Here you go! Pictures from my business trip.

My friend Zak and I making fun of a kid in the restaurant where we were who had his collar popped like, 4 feet high.

Ashley getting "arrested" by the highway patrol. I'm suprised they played along as well as they did.

We called AAA Roadside Assistance to change the flat tire on our stock car. HAHA! The guy was so confused.

On the Road Again

Wednesday through Friday, I was on a trip for work in Orlando. We're travelling setting up promotions at different places to promote the Pepsi 400. It was an extremely fun trip, but also extremely exhausting.

We had two events during the day, from about 9-5, then we had a night-time promotion set up at a club or bar in Orlando with Budweiser. All the trips were really fun. It was HOTTER THAN HADES during the day, but it was worth it. We talked to alot of people, handed out alot of info, and had fun giving out prizes for CORNHOLE! If you are not familiar with Cornhole, don't worry, here is all the information you need: playcornhole.org

I have lots of awesome pictures, but this is the first day I have touched a computer since Tuesday, and I don't have my camera with me. I will post the interesting ones.

I hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine consisted of alot of sleeping, and I attended the Florida State League All Star Game, which took place at my former team, the Daytona Cubs. It was a great game, and I got to see a few FSL people I hadn't seen in a while, so it was a good time.

I also worked on Saturday, which I didn't really have to do, but I wanted to help a Robbie out.

Plus I got to buy an ice cream sandwich from a beach vendor. That pretty much made it all worth it.

Springfield Ish

I was in Springfield this weekend for my brother’s homecoming from Japan. We had a great time. It was really hard to come back to Florida this time. I forgot how much I miss corn.

and trees.

Got to hang out with lots of friends and family. It was a trip to remember. Here are some of the highlights.

Posing with the World Series trophy at Busch Stadium.

Three flippin' weirdos at the game.

Playing cards in my card-playing hat.

Corn!

Hockey Night in America

Saturday night was Hockey night for us in Daytona Beach. We went to the store for provisions, then we hunkered down for a night of playoff hockey.

We’re rooting for Ottawa, since they beat the tar out of the Penguins, they have to be good enough to go all the way.

I noticed how weird our provisions were once we got them all home and out of the bags.

Multi-Grain Tostitos with Organic Pace Picante
Not THAT weird, although we’re mixing brands, and going all “hippie” with the whole grains and Organic salsa

Clearly Canadian
My beverage of choice, in honor of our Canuck Senators

Stress-Relief Tea for Robbie
He lets the game get to him a little too much

And last but not least (but probably weirdest)
Manischewitz Concord Grape Kosher Wine
Don’t even ask. I have no idea why we got this. No, it’s not Passover… Our friend Sam just said it’s the best wine ever so he grabbed a bottle and we went with it.

We enjoyed our snacks, and the Sens pulled out a glorious win, in spite of some brutal hits and a relentless Ducks Offense.

Can’t wait for tonight’s matchup.

Let’s Go Sens!
Puck the Ducks!
