I Heart Huckabee

I'm sorry, but I have to join the masses.

I am starting to like this guy more and more. He was slightly impressive in the Republican You Tube debates (although it was hard to notice anyone other than Anderson Cooper... dreamy) and now this?

This man is NOT dumb:

Daytona Changes You, Bets.

R.I.P. Evel

Stunt legend Evel Knievel has passed away.

According to PerezHilton.com, in his last interview with Maxim, Knievel spoke of a life-changing experience in none other than Daytona Beach, FL.

During the interview Evel opens about how he found God a few months ago, in a hotel room in Daytona Beach. “All my life I was an atheist,” he says. “I’d tell people I didn’t believe Jesus could walk on water. Then something happened in Daytona. God spoke to me. He said, ‘Robert, you got to stop tellin’ people you don’t believe in me. I been takin’ care of you for years, watchin’ over you. I done everything for you. And you go tell people you don’t believe in me. You gotta stop it.’ ” Evel puts his hands over his face, then sobs, “I told God I’d never insult him again.”

Man.. Daytona changes you.
I always knew that place was special.

Happy Birthday Thriller!

Ladies and Gentleman, gather 'round for this momentous occasion.

Michael Jackson's Thriller turns 25 this week!

I am especially excited, being a huge fan of the album. It's still in my top 5 best albums EVER.

His groundbreaking, world-changing album was released 25 years ago this week. Enjoy some tidbits from this amazing piece of our culture, featuring pieces from a review from Rolling Stone Magazine by Chris Connelly back in 1982...

Do you laugh when I say "world changing?" Check out this video of inmates in a prison in the Philippines:

CHRISTOPHER CONNELLY—Jackson has cooked up a zesty LP whose uptempo workouts don't obscure its harrowing, dark messages.

The sheer vitality of the musical setting obviates any sense of self-pity. Quincy Jones' production — Jackson coproduced his own compositions — is sparer than usual, and refreshingly free of schmaltz. Then again, he's working with what might be pop music's most spectacular instrument: Michael Jackson's voice. Where lesser artists need a string section or a lusty blast from a synthesizer, Jackson need only sing to convey deep, heartfelt emotion. His raw ability and conviction make material like "Baby Be Mine" and "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" into first-class cuts and even salvage "The Girl Is Mine." Well, almost.

Jackson's new attitude gives Thriller a deeper, if less visceral, emotional urgency than any of his previous work, and marks another watershed in the creative development of this prodigiously talented performer.

Here's Chris Connelly's favorite song from the album:
